John Arbon is loved by many independent yarn makers, dyers, and designers for their knowledge and craftsmanship, not to mention for their sustainable production practices using their vintage machinery collection, and where the mill itself is run on water power.

As you may know, the founder of John Arbon, John, is not only a spinner of yarn, but also records. This got the Arbon Team thinking that it would be wonderful to create a yarn range inspired by his eclectic record collection – everything from punk to funk. Developed during a cracking evening when John played the Mill folk a few of his favourites and, whilst sipping a few glasses of chilled wine, they all wrote down the colour each song evoked. Then the hand carders came out and began creating shades to illustrate the sentiment of each song - and thus the palette for Yarnadelic was born, resulting in 18 inspired melange shades.

Yarnadelic Worsted is made in 100% Falklands Corriedale. The breed is around 100 years old and was derived by crossing the Merino and Lincoln Longwool. It is one of our favourite fibres as its properties are a perfect balance of delightful softness and bounce from the Merino combined with the slight lustre and long staple length of the Lincoln Longwool – a fibre lover’s dream!

By giving this yarn a rounded 3 fold structure, the fibres natural stitch definition and drape are enhanced, creating the ideal all round go to yarn for everything from cables to lace and garments to accessories. The composition of Yarnadelic really lends itself to a thicker weight as Corriedale’s lofty nature means it won’t become too heavy even when used for a really big project.

The Corriedale is farmed in the Falkland Islands – ensuring that the animals have been treated with the utmost care and are free from harmful mulesing. The fibre has then been dyed in the UK and lovingly prepared, blended and spun at John Arbon's North Devon Mill.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0701/3439/9253/files/yarnadelic-worsted-canto-de-ossanha.jpg?v=1729274983
