Well, Rachel of Unwind Knitwear has definitely pulled everything out the hat for this one! Folklore is a simple yet eye-catching design with delicate colourwork borders, inspired by relaxed summer days. The design can be worked as a waistcoat, V-neck vest, or tee.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs soon as I laid eyes on this beauty, I felt the urge to knit it in Vivacious Botanicals, really making those delicate borders come to their right. Vivacious Botanical is a very special version of our favourite Fyberspates Vivacious range. This high twist merino range is botanically dyed to create a soft cohesive palette of colours, which in my humble opinion will heighten the stunningness of this design even more – truly making it shine!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe majority of the garment is worked flat, from the top down. The stitches for the back are cast on first, with increases worked to shape the armhole, you then work the front pieces, before joining to work the body in the round. The Polina Pullover is in Teti's own words, her humble love letter to Polina Raiko, an artist sharing the same origin and home country as Teti – Ukraine.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePolina Raiko (1928 – 2004) was a self-taught painter recognised for her naive style. Everything in her house — walls, ceilings, doors, and fence — Polina covered in enamel-painted drawings of fantastic birds and flowers, Christian iconography, and the her own interpretations of dreams and life events.\u003cbr\u003eUnfortunately most of her work is lost due to the flooding of the house after the destruction of Kakhovka dam in June 2023.
